3 suspected kidnappers killed in Kebbi police operation

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the death of three suspected kidnappers during a gunfight in Shanga Local Government Area. Authorities also recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and seven rounds of live ammunition at the scene.
CSP Nafiu Abubakar, spokesperson for the command, explained that the Divisional Police Officer in Shanga led a coordinated operation with local vigilantes following intelligence reports about criminals planning an attack. The operation successfully neutralized the threat, ensuring the safety of residents in the area.
“Intelligence received revealed that a gang of suspected kidnappers was sighted in the nearby forest along Tungargiwa/Saminaka road, planning on how to kidnap commuters flying the road,” Abubakar stated.

In a separate incident, gunmen stormed Kesan community in the same local government area and abducted a 25-year-old man, Abdulmumini Alhaji Ahmadu. Security teams trailed the gang and successfully rescued the victim.
“During the rescue operation, the victim was shot on his left leg by the suspects and he is being treated at a medical facility in the area,” Abubakar added.
