Drama unfolds as Davido unfollows Iyabo Ojo over leaked chat on Mohbad’s death

Popular Nigerian music star Davido has unfollowed Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo on Instagram, stirring up social media drama after a leaked WhatsApp conversation between the two hit the internet.
The controversy erupted after controversial online personality VeryDarkMan shared screenshots of a private chat allegedly involving Iyabo Ojo, where she criticized Davido for what she described as insincere support for the late singer Mohbad..
In the leaked messages, Iyabo Ojo expressed disappointment that Davido continued to follow embattled artist Naira Marley on social media, despite publicly backing the #JusticeForMohbad movement. She accused the singer of being two-faced and not truly standing with the cause.
“My problem is not even with that black whatever, it is Davido who flew down like he claimed to fight for justice, but he still dey follow Naira Marley,” she wrote.
“That means he was chasing clout. I’m so disappointed and to think he has been saying he is the only superstar artist who stood by Mohbad. Just fake love 001.”
In what appeared to be a response to her remarks, Davido has now unfollowed the actress on Instagram. However, checks show that Iyabo Ojo is still following him.

Mohbad, a fast-rising music artist, died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, prompting a nationwide outcry.
Several celebrities including Davido, Falz, and Zlatan participated in candlelight vigils and protests demanding justice for the late singer.
Iyabo Ojo played a leading role in the campaign and reportedly created a WhatsApp group to coordinate advocacy efforts.
In a recent interview, she admitted she regretted pushing for Mohbad’s body to be exhumed for autopsy.
The fallout between Davido and Ojo marks another twist in the ongoing conversation surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death and the call for justice.
