9 surveyors abducted in Ondo released after N20m ransom paid

The nine surveyors abducted last week at a site in Ilu-Abo, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, have been released.

Sources reveal that a ₦20 million ransom was paid to secure their freedom. The release was confirmed by Pastor Ajibade Owolanke, a brother to the Ejemikin of Akure, High Chief Oluwole Omotayo.

Owolanke stated that the surveyors were freed on Tuesday night and have since returned to Akure, the state capital, where they are reported to be in good condition.

This development brings relief to the families of the victims, who endured a tense and harrowing week while the abduction case unfolded.
