PDP governorship candidate survives assassination attempt in Abuja

Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election, is currently battling for his life after surviving a shocking assassination attempt in Abuja.
The attack occurred on Friday night in the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory. According to eyewitness accounts, Ezenwafor was returning home from a private engagement when he was ambushed and shot by unidentified gunmen. The assailants fled the scene immediately after opening fire.
The PDP candidate was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he is currently receiving intensive medical care. Sources at the hospital confirm that he is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove multiple bullets lodged in his body.
“I’m currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate me so that they can pull out bullets from my body,” he said.

Two other individuals who were with Ezenwafor at the time of the attack were also shot during the assault. Their conditions remain unclear as of press time.
The motive behind the attack is yet to be established, and security agencies have not issued an official statement.
