El-Rufai, Kwankwaso meet in Abuja

Political speculation is intensifying as Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State, was seen meeting with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in Abuja on Friday.
The two prominent politicians crossed paths after Jumaat prayers at a mosque in Abuja, sparking rumors about Kwankwaso’s potential move to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Accompanied by his eldest son, Hon. Bello El-Rufai, the former Kaduna governor exchanged pleasantries with the former Kano State governor.

The meeting fuels speculation that Kwankwaso may have already struck a deal with President Bola Tinubu, with discussions possibly pointing towards him and his supporters rejoining the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
