NSCDC operatives foil potential church attack, arrest armed suspect in Plateau

Security operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have apprehended a man found with a firearm within the premises of a church in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The arrest, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, was made during a routine patrol following a tip-off, according to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama.
Sources close to the incident revealed that the suspect was intercepted near the church compound, effectively preventing what could have been a tragic attack.

“The suspect was found in possession of a gun and could not provide any satisfactory explanation or legal documentation for it. The swift action of our operatives helped prevent what could have escalated into a serious security breach,” the source said.
Authorities have withheld the identity of the suspect, citing ongoing preliminary investigations.
