Enugu: 3 police officers killed in ambush by gunmen

In a disturbing act of violence, three police officers have lost their lives following a brazen ambush by unknown gunmen in Achi, a community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The attack reportedly took place near the Ozudaa Market checkpoint in the early hours of the day. Witnesses say the officers were caught off guard and shot at close range by the assailants, who quickly fled the scene.

While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, a graphic video making rounds on social media shows the bodies of the slain officers, sparking widespread outrage, sorrow, and renewed concerns over rising insecurity in the region.
At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, proved unsuccessful, as calls and messages were not returned.
