JAMB disburses over N397m as transport allowances for 2025 Mock UTME officials

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the disbursement of N397,030,900 in transport allowances to 1,909 officials participating in the upcoming 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scheduled for April 10, 2025.
This was disclosed by the Board’s Director of Finance, Mr. Mufutau Bello, during a strategic meeting in Abuja to assess JAMB’s preparedness for both the mock exam and the main UTME.
Bello highlighted the critical national significance of the exams, explaining that the disbursed amount represents the first tranche of payments—covering about one-third of the total personnel involved in the nationwide exercise. He reaffirmed that more disbursements will follow as preparations advance.

According to a statement released after the meeting, the mock exam marks the first phase of JAMB’s core mandate, and its success is vital to upholding the credibility of Nigeria’s educational system. Any failure, the statement warned, could undermine public trust.
JAMB officials also addressed concerns over travel allowances, stating that complaints often stem from a lack of understanding about the scale and logistics involved in coordinating examinations across the country.
They reassured the public of their full commitment to delivering a smooth and credible examination process, both for the mock test and the main UTME.
