Anambra: APGA clears Soludo for guber primary

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has officially signaled his intention to seek re-election by quietly picking up his expression of interest and nomination forms at the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Secretariat in Abuja.
The move, which marks the beginning of his journey toward a second term in office, was confirmed on Friday in a statement by APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara. According to Opara, Governor Soludo’s decision has been met with widespread endorsements from various groups and individuals across the state, a testament to the growing support for his leadership and vision.
According to Opara, the upcoming APGA governorship primary is set to be historic—the first of its kind in the party’s history—with high expectations for a peaceful and transparent process.
He praised the party leadership for its dedication to internal democracy, pointing out that the ongoing screening of aspirants has been conducted smoothly, free from rancor or controversy.
Governor Soludo’s re-election bid under APGA is widely seen as a major milestone for the party, which has continued to strengthen its hold on Anambra State politics through stability, strategic leadership, and grassroots support.
He disclosed that for the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State, no fewer than 3,260 delegates are set to choose their preferred candidate in the primaries slated for Saturday.

He said, “In a demonstration of its commitment to deepening democratic principles, the APGA has conducted a seamless screening process for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, paving the way for his candidacy in the upcoming primary election.
