Real Madrid to clash with Man City in Champions League Round of 16 showdown

Spanish giants Real Madrid have been drawn against Manchester City in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The draw ceremony, held in Nyon on Friday and conducted by former Barcelona star Ivan Rakitić, has set up another thrilling chapter between two of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The two sides already met during the group stage this season, with Manchester City securing a win in Spain. However, history in the knockout rounds slightly favours Real Madrid, who have eliminated Pep Guardiola’s side in their last two Champions League meetings at that stage.

Other meetings include a revenge mission for Paris Saint-Germain, UCL defending champions, as they will take on Chelsea in a repeat of the Club World Cup final, where Chelsea dispatched the hitherto unbeatable Parisiens 3-0.

Victor Osimhen got his wish, as Galatasaray are set to face Liverpool. The 25-year-old had told the media he would love to visit Anfield and defeat the big boys for the Turkish champions’ ambitious UCL run.

Newcastle United and Barcelona meet again this season for a place in the quarter-finals. Ademola Lookman’s Atletico Madrid will face rudderless Tottenham Hotspurs.

First leg matches will be played between March 10-11, while the second legs will take place March 17-18.
