Tinubu heads to Kebbi for one-day official duties

President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a one-day official visit to Kebbi State this Saturday, where he will inaugurate a series of projects executed by the state governor, Nasir Idris.
The announcement was made on X by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. According to Onanuga, the visit will also see President Tinubu serve as the special guest of honour at the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural events.
The festival, one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events, is staged along the riverside of the historic Matan Fada, which has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity.

The Argungu Festival, which attracts visitors from across Nigeria and beyond, features traditional fishing competitions, music, dance, and crafts, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the country.
The president’s visit is part of his ongoing efforts to support state-led development projects and promote Nigeria’s cultural tourism, the statement added.
