Atiku visits El-Rufai after alleged failed arrest attempt at Airport

Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has paid a solidarity visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following what was described as a failed attempt to arrest him at the airport.
The development was made public by Atiku in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday. According to the former Vice President, the visit was aimed at showing support and standing in unity with El-Rufai during what he termed a troubling incident.
Although El-Rufai is now a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku’s visit highlights a moment of political solidarity beyond party affiliations. The former Kaduna governor reportedly faced an attempted arrest at the airport under circumstances that have since sparked conversations in political circles.

Atiku noted that despite the situation, El-Rufai remained calm and undeterred. He described the former governor as resolute and unwavering in his commitment to building a better Nigeria.
In his statement, Atiku emphasized that the incident did not shake El-Rufai’s determination. According to him, the former governor continues to stay focused on his broader vision for national development and progress.
“Last night, I paid a solidarity visit to the former Governor of Kaduna State and stalwart of the African Democratic Congress, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following the failed attempt to arrest him at the airport upon his arrival in the country. He was unfazed by the incident and remains committed to the battle to enthrone a better Nigeria,” Atiku wrote.
