NSA Ribadu receives U.S. Congressional delegation in Abuja

National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, on Sunday welcomed a high-level delegation from the United States Congress to his office in Abuja, in what marks a significant follow-up to last month’s security consultations held in Washington, D.C.
The visiting team, comprised of senior members of the U.S. House of Representatives, included Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley Moore. Their visit underscores the continued commitment of both nations to strengthening cooperation on security, counterterrorism, and regional stability.
Ribadu said Nigeria remains committed to strengthening its longstanding defence and security partnership with the United States, particularly in counter-terrorism operations, regional security and broader strategic cooperation.

The NSA noted that the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, underscored the importance both countries attach to the dialogue.
“Our discussions focused on counter-terrorism cooperation, regional stability, and strengthening the Nigeria–U.S. strategic security partnership,” Ribadu said.
“I’m optimistic that this engagement will deepen trust, collaboration, and our shared commitment to peace and security.”
