Ex-CDS Christopher Musa sworn in as Nigeria’s Defence Minister

Nigeria’s former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), has officially taken the oath of office as the country’s new Minister of Defence.
His swearing-in comes just a day after the Senate confirmed his appointment, following a thorough five-hour screening session during which lawmakers assessed his qualifications, experience, and vision for strengthening national security.
Musa, nominated on Tuesday by President Bola Tinubu following the resignation of Defence Minister, Badaru Mohammed, on health grounds, pledged to prioritise the protection of lives and national territory.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga in an update on his verified X handle said: “General Christopher Musa takes oath of office as Nigeria’s new Defence minister.”
