In a thrilling upset at the 2025 Indian Wells Masters, British tennis star Jack Draper delivered a stunning performance to dethrone two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz with a 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 victory on Saturday.

The remarkable win secured Draper’s place in the tournament final, marking one of the biggest triumphs of his career.

The 13th-seeded Draper will now battle 12th-seeded Holger Rune for the championship on Sunday. Rune advanced to the final after defeating fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, 7-6, 6-4, achieving his 150th career tour-level victory in the process.

Draper’s victory also put an end to Alcaraz’s 16-match winning streak at the ATP Masters 1000 event, a dominant run that had cemented the Spanish star’s reputation in the California desert.

Alcaraz, who entered the tournament as the second seed, had been chasing history, aiming to become the youngest player to win three consecutive singles titles at any ATP Tour event.

A victory would have also made him only the third player ever to achieve a title three-peat at Indian Wells. However, Draper’s resilience and aggressive play denied him that milestone.
