NUJ FCT Council congratulates Ikharo Attah on new role as Media Adviser

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has congratulated veteran journalist Ikharo Attah on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister of Education, Morufu Olatunji Alausa.
In a statement issued in Abuja on May 4, the council described Attah’s appointment as well-deserved, citing his long-standing contributions to journalism and media development in Nigeria.
Before his new role, Attah served as Head of News at Independent Television, where he built a reputation for strong leadership, professionalism, and commitment to ethical journalism.
According to the NUJ, his experience in newsroom management and public communication positions him well to strengthen the Ministry of Education’s media engagement and improve the dissemination of policies and programmes.

The council noted that the appointment reflects Attah’s diligence, professionalism, and impact within the media industry, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver in his new capacity.
The NUJ also encouraged him to uphold the highest standards of journalism while supporting the role of the media in promoting transparency, educational reforms, and national development.
Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Grace Ike, who signed the statement, wished Attah success in his new assignment and urged him to continue contributing meaningfully to nation-building through effective communication.
