INEC derecognizes David Mark’s ADC faction amid party crisis

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that it will no longer entertain correspondences from the competing factions of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by David Mark and Rafiu Bala.
According to a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu, INEC’s Chairman of Information and Voter Education, this move comes after a careful review of the Court of Appeal’s judgment delivered on March 12.

INEC stated that it would also cease all forms of engagement with both factions, including monitoring their meetings, congresses, and conventions, pending the determination of the matter before the Federal High Court.
The commission further disclosed that it would remove the name of David Mark from its official portal as part of the measures taken in response to the ongoing leadership dispute within the party.
