FCT Police launch 2026 National Police Day with sanitation drive, free medical outreach in Abuja

The FCT Police Command has officially kicked off activities for the 2026 National Police Day celebration with a community-focused initiative in Area 1 Abuja.
Under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad, the Command began the celebrations on Monday with a sanitation exercise and a free medical outreach designed to benefit residents of the area.
The exercise, which drew participation from police officers and members of the community, focused on improving environmental cleanliness while also offering essential healthcare services, particularly to vulnerable groups.

Residents of Area 1 commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, especially in promoting public health and hygiene. Many beneficiaries also expressed gratitude for the free medical services provided during the outreach.
According to the Command, the programme reflects the broader commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to deepen community engagement, enhance public trust, and promote people-centered policing.
As part of the ongoing National Police Day activities, the FCT Police Command reaffirmed its dedication to building stronger partnerships with the public while continuing to prioritize service delivery, safety, and community wellbeing.
