Rivers crisis: Tinubu meets Wike, Fubara in Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stepped in to calm the prolonged political crisis rocking Rivers State, holding a late-night closed-door meeting with key stakeholders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The high-level consultation brought together two major figures at the centre of the state’s power struggle — the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
The high-level intervention by the President comes as a response to the deepening friction between the Governor and his predecessor, which has threatened to destabilize the political landscape of the oil-rich state.

Several prominent leaders from Rivers State were also in attendance to witness the peace talks, signaling a collective effort to find a lasting solution to the impasse.
Nation reports that Governor Fubara later accompanied Wike to his private residence in Guzape, Abuja, shortly after the meeting with the president.
