Bauchi gov fires security commissioner amid rising security concerns

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced the removal of Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima from his position as Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.
The change takes effect immediately and is part of a broader adjustment within the state’s executive cabinet. Officials described the move as a routine reshuffle aimed at ensuring the continued effectiveness of the State Executive Council.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, “Governor of Bauchi State has approved a minor change in the composition of his cabinet.”
It further stated, “In that respect, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima has been relieved of his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.”

The government did not disclose any specific reason for Galadima’s removal. However, officials said the decision was taken to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
Gidado explained that the reshuffle reflects the administration’s commitment to reviewing its cabinet from time to time. He said the aim is to bring in fresh ideas, reposition government operations, and ensure that policies and programmes are properly implemented.
Governor Mohammed thanked Galadima for his service to Bauchi State and wished him well in his future pursuits.
However, he also assured residents that his government remains focused on restoring peace and improving security in all parts of the state.
