NLC, FCTA workers protest at industrial court, urge Wike to resign

On Monday, workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the strong backing of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), staged a picket at the National Industrial Court in Abuja. This protest is part of a total and indefinite strike aimed at addressing unresolved labour disputes that have been brewing for some time.
The protest follows a directive issued by the NLC, which fully endorsed the industrial action. The union has described the strike as both justified and necessary, citing persistent violations of workers’ rights by the FCTA management and political leadership.
Placards carried by the protesters bore inscriptions such as “Wike must go!!”, “Abuja no be Rivers”, “Pay promotion arrears”, “Enough is Enough” and “No working tools”.
