Pupils cheat death as classroom collapses in Lagos

A terrifying incident unfolded on Thursday at Odokerere High School in the Ikorodu area of Lagos when a classroom building collapsed during lesson hours. Thankfully, no lives were lost, though several students sustained injuries of varying severity.
Eyewitnesses say panic ensued as students rushed to safety. Many pupils escaped unhurt, but some suffered serious injuries and were immediately attended to by school staff and first responders
The residents and teachers in the school owned by the Lagos State government confirmed that the building caved in during class hours, saying the school infrastructure had been dilapidated for a long time before it came down on the pupils.

A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media platform X, was shared by a user @omoelerinjare.
In the footage seen by TheLeader, an eyewitness pointed out that many of the pupils would have been buried in the rubble if they had not acted swiftly.
