Who is Kemi Omotosho? Profile of MultiChoice new CEO

Kemi Omotosho is a seasoned media and business executive who has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, effective January 2026.
She succeeds John Ugbe, who retires after nearly 15 years of steering the company’s growth and expansion in Nigeria.
Known for her results-driven approach, Omotosho brings extensive experience across Africa’s media and digital entertainment sector.
Background
Born into the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, Omotosho holds an Executive MBA from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Nigerian Institute of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin.
Early career
She began her professional journey in customer service and operations at Computer Systems Associates before moving to Airtel Nigeria, where she focused on postpaid customer retention, enterprise account management, and revenue optimization.
Omotosho’s career at MultiChoice has been marked by progressive leadership roles.

She served as Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria, driving initiatives to improve customer retention, boost adoption of digital products, and optimize revenue.
She later became Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for the rest of Africa, providing functional leadership across more than 50 markets and implementing programs to enhance business performance.
Most recently, she was Regional Director for Southern Africa, managing operations in seven countries with full profit-and-loss responsibility, demonstrating her ability to lead large teams and complex operations while maintaining strategic growth objectives.
Her career reflects a strong focus on customer engagement, operational efficiency, and transformative business leadership.
