Tragedy as 2 Kano Assembly lawmakers die in one day

Kano State was thrown into mourning on Wednesday following the reported deaths of two members of the State House of Assembly in quick succession.

Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Local Government Area, was reported to have passed away shortly after news broke of the death of his colleague, Aminu Sa’adu. Sa’adu was the lawmaker representing Ungoggo Local Government Area in the Assembly.

The near-simultaneous deaths sent shockwaves across Kano State, given the prominence of both legislators and the unusual timing of the incidents.

The sad development was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, spokesperson to Governor Abba Yusuf, who announced the news on his official Facebook page.
