The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with national security operatives, has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals over their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities in the Kasoa area.

The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated early-morning operation at Tuba, a community within Kasoa, on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The suspects are alleged to have been involved in romance scams and were operating what authorities described as a cybercrime hub.

Reports indicate that operatives from the CSA and National Security seized 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones during the raid on the suspects’ hideout in Tuba.

The devices are believed to have been used in carrying out the alleged criminal activities.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators, while the seized electronic devices have been forwarded for forensic examination to aid ongoing investigations.

According to the CSA, the operation forms part of a sustained national effort to disrupt cybercrime networks and safeguard Ghana’s digital ecosystem.

Reacting to the arrests, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, commended the Cyber Security Authority for what he described as a significant breakthrough.

In a statement posted on Facebook, he noted that the arrests were part of continuous efforts to clamp down on cybercrime in the country and pledged his ministry’s support for the Authority’s work.

He wrote:”Kudos to the team at the Cyber Security Authority Ghana once again. This dawn, another massive blow has been struck against cybercrime in Ghana.

“A joint operation between the Authority and National Security resulted in the arrest of 32 Nigerians operating a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba.

“We will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to do more as we make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercrimes. For God and Country.”
