2027 election: Obasanjo holds private meeting with Turaki, Aliyu, Jang, other PDP leaders

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by its chairman, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in what is seen as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Turaki was accompanied by former governors of Niger and Plateau States, Alhaji Aliyu Muazu Babangida and Senator Jonah Jang, signaling a coordinated effort to engage key political figures as parties prepare for the next electoral cycle.

The delegation, which arrived at about 11:40 a.m., proceeded into a closed-door meeting with the former president at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
Other party chieftains also accompanied the leaders for the meeting.
