Gov Bago, Emir of Agaie, others pay final respects to Capt. Hassan Mohammed Baro

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, joined hundreds of sympathisers in Minna on Tuesday to pay his last respects to Capt. Hassan Mohammed Baro, the Permanent Commissioner IV of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission, who passed away recently.

The funeral prayer was conducted near the late commissioner’s residence and was led by the Director General of Religious Affairs, Malam Umar Faruk Abdullahi. The solemn event drew dignitaries and community members, including the Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu.

Governor Bago accompanied mourners to the Kpakungu Muslim Cemetery, where Capt. Baro was laid to rest. The Chief Imam of Minna, Malam Jibril Isah, offered special prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

Governor Umaru Bago also led a State delegation to the deceased’s residence at Brighter Area, Minna to condole with the family and urged them to keep their faith in Allah and be steadfast in offering prayers for late Capt. Baro.

The Chief Imam of Minna, Mal. Jibril Isah and the Chief Imam of Agaie, Mal. Ndanusa Ibrahim Yunusa offered prayers for the deceased.

The late Capt.Hassan Mohammed Baro died at the age of 65 leaving behind two wives and seven children.

Until his demise, he was the Permanent Commissioner IV, Niger State Independent Electoral Commission, and was a one-time Chairman of Agaie Local Government Council.

Late Capt. Baro also held the position of Director General Protocol, Government House, during the regime of Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu.
