PDP zones 2027 presidential ticket to the South

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, a strategic decision aimed at promoting regional balance and inclusivity within the party.
The resolution was reached on Monday during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at its headquarters in Abuja, which brought together top leaders, governors, and key stakeholders to discuss critical issues ahead of the next general elections.
Political analysts note that the zoning move is likely to reshape the internal dynamics of the PDP, as prominent southern politicians now begin positioning themselves for the coveted presidential ticket. The decision is also expected to influence alliances, campaigns, and negotiations within the party leading up to 2027.
