Veteran Nollywood actor Fabian Adibe has died at the age of 85.
The seasoned actor, widely remembered for his iconic role in the film adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart,” passed away in the early hours of Wednesday around 2:30 am.
While details surrounding his death remain unclear, the sad news was first made public by celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi, who announced it via Instagram.
He wrote: “Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adebe, is dead. Died 2 am this morning.”

Adibe, who belonged to the pioneering generation of Nollywood, was among those who laid the foundation for the Nigerian movie industry.
In the 1970s, he was part of the group of young Igbo men who formed the Odunke Artists, a movement that shaped the cultural and artistic landscape of the time.
His death marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy in film and theatre that influenced generations of actors.
