Akwa Ibom Gov Eno increases NYSC monthly allowance to N20,000

Corps members serving in Akwa Ibom State are set to enjoy a major increase in their monthly allowance, thanks to a new directive issued by Governor Umo Eno.
Speaking during the State Delivery Meeting on Friday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Uyo, Governor Eno announced that the state government has approved an increase in the monthly stipend for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000.
The new allowance, which takes effect from August 1, is aimed at complementing the Federal Government’s planned ₦77,000 monthly payment to corps members.

“More than 10,000 corps members are posted to Akwa Ibom annually. We must continue to encourage and support them,” Eno said.
This development comes on the heels of another recent announcement by the governor approving the renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp located at Ikot Itie Idung, aimed at enhancing the welfare of corps members across the state.
