APC sets July 24 for NEC meeting to elect new chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially scheduled July 24, 2025, for a crucial National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, during which a new national chairman is expected to be elected.
This announcement comes in the wake of the resignation of the former chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who stepped down last Friday under circumstances yet to be publicly disclosed.
In the interim, the party has appointed Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), as the Acting National Chairman. Dalori officially assumed the role on Monday, steering the party’s affairs ahead of the decisive NEC gathering.

Speaking after an emergency meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, confirmed the date and revealed that a formal notice had been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to notify the commission of the upcoming leadership transition.
