PDP reaffirms Samuel Anyanwu as national secretary

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially reaffirmed Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary, putting to rest recent uncertainties surrounding the position.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press conference addressed by the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, at the PDP national secretariat.
Damagum confirmed that Anyanwu will resume his duties immediately, bringing clarity to the party’s internal leadership structure following ongoing debates and contestations over the role.

“The National Working Committee wishes to inform the public that Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the duly recognized National Secretary of our great party. He is to resume official duties with immediate effect,” Damagum said.
The reaffirmation comes amid heightened political tension and power tussles within the PDP, especially as the party strategizes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
