Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhães has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by signing a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2029.

The Brazilian defender, who was previously tied to the Gunners until 2027, has been handed a fresh deal in recognition of his vital role in Mikel Arteta’s setup. Since arriving from French side Lille in 2020 for £27 million, Gabriel has become a defensive mainstay, making 210 appearances across all competitions.

The 27-year-old has particularly shone since forming a formidable partnership with William Saliba in 2022 — a duo widely credited with solidifying Arsenal’s backline. Renowned for his aerial dominance and threat from set pieces, Gabriel has also proven to be a consistent performer in both domestic and European competitions.

However, his absence due to a hamstring injury during the final stretch of the 2024–25 season was felt by the team, highlighting just how crucial he is to Arsenal’s defensive stability.
