Troops eliminate 5 terrorists in coordinated ambush in Borno

In a well-coordinated counter-insurgency operation, troops of the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division and Sector 1 of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully neutralized five terrorists in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation took place around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday along the Pulka road axis near the Mandara Mountains, a known hotspot for insurgent activity.

Military sources revealed that the ambush was launched by troops deployed from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Pulka, who intercepted the terrorists at a suspected crossing point. The swift and tactical engagement led to the elimination of five insurgents, further weakening the presence of hostile elements in the region.
“During the firefight, the ambush team neutralised five terrorists, while several others escaped with suspected gunshot wounds,” the source said.
