CHAN 2025: Final line-up confirmed as Nigeria lands in Group D

Excitement is building for the much-anticipated 8th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which has officially been rescheduled to take place from August 2 to August 30, 2025. Originally set for February, the continental showdown will now light up stadiums later in the year.
The final qualification round wrapped up with Algeria and South Africa clinching the last two spots in the tournament. Both teams will now compete in Group C alongside joint-hosts Uganda, Niger Republic, and Guinea, setting the stage for a thrilling group phase.
Nigeria, who finished as silver medallists in the 2018 edition, find themselves in a tough Group D. The Super Eagles will face off against Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan.

Interestingly, Congo Brazzaville was initially placed in this group but has been disqualified following a successful protest filed by Equatorial Guinea.
Group A is headed by joint-hosts Kenya, who will face 2018 champions Morocco, as well as Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. The opening match of the tournament will feature Kenya against Morocco.
Group B is led by fellow joint-hosts Tanzania, who are set to compete with Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.
