Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that her growing spiritual journey has reshaped her professional outlook in ways she never anticipated.

In a heartfelt post on X, the 31-year-old disc jockey and philanthropist reflected on how embracing a deeper connection with her faith has steered her career in a new direction. Cuppy admitted that while the changes may seem unexpected to many, they have brought her a sense of fulfillment and purpose.

She noted that prioritizing her spiritual growth has shifted her focus from the fast-paced entertainment lifestyle to more meaningful pursuits, though she didn’t specify what her next steps would be.

“Was thinking this evening, Jesus really disrupted my DJ career plans o but in the BEST way,” she wrote. “Booked and busy means nothing if you’re not walking in purpose.”

Cuppy, who was baptised at Holy Trinity Brompton in London in August 2024, previously described the experience as the “best decision” she has ever made.

Her journey in entertainment began in 2014 as a resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards. Over the past decade, she has made her mark in the music industry with hits like Gelato, Green Light, Vybe, Currency, and Jollof On The Jet. She recently ventured into acting as well.

Outside of music, Cuppy — daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola — has pursued academic excellence, earning a master’s degree in African Studies from Oxford University in 2023. She was also named a King’s Trust International Ambassador by King Charles III in March 2024.
