Nigerian teams crash out of 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja

It was a tough outing for Nigerian representatives at the ongoing 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja, as both Nigeria Customs Service and Chief of Naval Staff Spikers have exited the race for the continental title.
Nigeria Customs were outclassed in their Round of 16 match on Tuesday, suffering a straight-set defeat to Kenya Commercial Bank. The Kenyan side won convincingly with scores of 25–19, 25–17, 25–17.
Chief of Naval Staff Spikers also bowed out after a hard-fought 3–1 loss to Cameroon’s Litto Volleyball Club. Despite taking a set, the Nigerian team fell 22–25, 18–25, 25–18, 17–25, ending their title hopes.

With both teams now out of championship contention, they will turn their attention to classification matches as the tournament progresses.
Meanwhile, defending champions Zamalek of Egypt remain in formidable form. The Egyptian giants cruised past Omnisports of Ivory Coast with an emphatic 25–8, 25–15, 25–15 win, reinforcing their ambition to retain the title.
