Meet Ayo Sotinrin, newly appointed BOA Boss

President Bola Tinubu has named Ayo Sotinrin, a well-respected Nigerian environmentalist and finance professional, as the new Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
Sotinrin brings a wealth of experience in sustainable development and financial management to the role.
Personal background
Born on August 10, Ayo Sotinrin maintains a private profile regarding his early years.
However, his professional journey reflects a clear dedication to financial development and environmental sustainability.
Sotinrin holds an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick.
He also earned an Advanced Diploma in Environmental Conservation, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
From environmentalist to financial strategist
His career began in environmental advocacy before he transitioned into development finance. Over time, he has built solid expertise in sustainable investments, infrastructure development, and project financing.

Entrepreneurial efforts
After spending more than ten years in the finance and investment sectors, Sotinrin established SAO Capital, an advisory and impact investment firm focused on raising capital for agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, and conservation initiatives.
Notable achievements
Sotinrin has led high-impact projects across more than ten countries, contributing significantly to infrastructure finance, public-private partnerships, and privatization initiatives across Africa.
He has served as a key advisor to senior government officials across Africa, including Nigeria, on strategic investments and policy frameworks.
His contributions were vital to the creation of Nigeria’s National Strategy Blueprint for Trade and Investment.

In 2020, he was recognized in the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) Under 40 category for his impactful work in development finance and environmental sustainability.
With his cross-disciplinary expertise, Ayo Sotinrin is poised to lead the Bank of Agriculture into a new era of innovation and inclusive growth, particularly in the agricultural and green finance sectors.
