The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully arrested Mr. Levi Chidiebele Ubodoeze, an auto spare parts dealer, following an intensive three-week manhunt.

According to a statement by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, the arrest took place in Lagos, where officials found 75.5 kilograms of phenacetin, a drug-cutting agent, concealed in Mr. Ubodoeze’s vehicle.

His capture follows the interception of a cocaine shipment he allegedly attempted to export to Angola.

In a related operation, NDLEA operatives uncovered a shipment of cannabis-laced candies intended for sale at a children’s shop in Lagos.

The agency swiftly apprehended key suspects, including Adelamola Taylor and Musurat Lawal. Beyond Lagos, multiple arrests were made in Kano, Abia, and Benue states, leading to significant seizures of opioids and cannabis.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), praised the agency’s continued efforts in curbing drug trafficking and abuse across the country. He reaffirmed NDLEA’s commitment to tackling the illicit drug trade through rigorous enforcement and public sensitization campaigns.
