I almost died of drug abuse, Odumodublvck reveals

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shared his personal struggle with illicit drug addiction, revealing how he nearly lost his life during his time at the University of Lagos.
The ‘Pity The Boy’ hitmaker disclosed that he used to take illicit drugs while studying, and during one harrowing episode, he almost died from an overdose. In a desperate bid for help, he called his mother to book a flight back to Abuja.
Odumodublvck stated that following this frightening experience, he only indulged in drugs once more before quitting entirely, highlighting a turning point in his life and career.
“I was a very bright student while studying at the University of Lagos. But I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drug once before quitting,” he stated in a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast.

Odumodublvck stated that he was grateful to God because not everyone who indulged in illicit substance consumption were privileged to give up the addiction.
Warning of the dangers of drug abuse, he urged young people to shun illicit substance consumption.
“I’m grateful because there are some people that went into that life [illicit substance consumption] and they didn’t make it out. Some people didn’t make it alive, some had lost people to it like they died because of drug abuse. Some even committed suicide due to drug overdose. I’ve seen a pregnant woman and her husband battling drug addiction. It’s really terrible!”
