Tiwa Savage returns with fourth studio album, ‘this one is personal’

Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage has made a powerful comeback with the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, This One Is Personal.
The project marks her first full-length body of work since 2020, signaling a new chapter in the career of one of Africa’s most celebrated female artists.
The 15-track project, now streaming on major digital platforms, weaves themes of love, heartbreak, resilience, and self-reflection through a mix of soulful Afrobeats and global influences. Featured songs include I’m Done, Angel Dust, You4Me, On the Low featuring Skepta, Holding It Down, 10%, Twisted, Scared of Love, Pray No More, Addicted featuring Taves, This One Is Personal (Interlude), Will I Run Again?, For One Night, You’re Not the First, and Change featuring James Fauntleroy.
Keeping true to its title, the album boasts just three guest appearances — Skepta, Taves, and James Fauntleroy — chosen specifically for how they amplify Savage’s personal vision without overshadowing it.

Announcing the release on her X (formerly Twitter) page, Savage revealed that recording sessions spanned studios in Nashville, London, San Francisco, and Lagos.
The self-styled “Number One Africa Bad Girl” said: “This project is so close to my heart and I poured every part of me into it. I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with.
“Please cherish it, because This One Is Personal.
This album is my story, so l kept the features limited. I wanted you all to feel me in every song.”
During a live Q&A with fans, Savage explained her choice of collaborators: “I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy.
“It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
Savage noted that the album mirrors her journey over the last five years — a period marked by personal growth, motherhood, and major career shifts.
