By-election: APC’s Daji wins Zamfara assembly seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Kamilu Kasuwar Daji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the supplementary election for the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency in Zamfara State.
Announcing the results, Professor Lawal Sa’ad of the Federal University Gusau, who served as the Returning Officer, confirmed that Kasuwar Daji polled 8,182 votes, defeating his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 5,543 votes.

He stated, “Kamilu Sa’idu, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, was duly declared winner and returned elected.”
Recall that INEC had earlier declared last week’s Saturday by-election in the constituency inconclusive following cancellation of votes in some polling units, a move that prompted the Thursday supplementary poll.
