Gov Sani sacks commissioner of information

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has carried out a significant cabinet reshuffle, relieving Professor Muhammad Sani Bello of his role as Commissioner for Information.
In a swift replacement move, the Governor appointed Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, the current Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), as the new Commissioner for Information.
This development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa.
According to the statement, Governor Sani expressed gratitude to Professor Bello for his service and notable contributions to the administration, wishing him success in his future pursuits.
“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani (CON), has approved the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki as the new Commissioner of Information,” the statement read in part.
“This follows the disengagement of Professor Muhammad Sani Bello from the Kaduna State Executive Council.”

The statement further noted that Bello served as the pioneer Commissioner of Education under the current administration before being redeployed to head the Ministry of Information.
While no official reason was given for the change, sources within the government said the move was part of Governor Sani’s broader strategy to reposition the information machinery of the state for “greater efficiency and public engagement.”
Maiyaki is expected to be sworn in immediately and will assume duties as part of the governor’s media and communications team.
He previously served in various media capacities, including as Director-General of Media and Publicity under a past administration.
