The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the defamation case filed against her by the Federal Government. The bail was granted on Thursday, with the court setting the amount at ₦50 million.

As part of the bail conditions, the court ruled that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan must present one surety of credible and verifiable integrity, who must reside within the FCT and own a landed property in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The senator, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, arrived at the courthouse calmly and confidently ahead of her arraignment. She faces defamation charges brought by the Director of Public Prosecutions, which are reportedly linked to public allegations she made against prominent political figures.
