Suspected herdsmen attack Tiv community, kill village head, abduct many in the Nasarawa

What began as a peaceful Sunday evening quickly turned into a night of terror for residents of Tse Yange, a predominantly Tiv farming community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, as suspected herdsmen launched a brutal attack on the village.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants stormed the community on motorbikes under the cover of darkness, unleashing violence that left the village head dead and several others abducted. The assault, which began late Sunday and stretched into the early hours of Monday, sent shockwaves through the community.
Dozens of residents were injured in the chaos, while many families fled their homes in fear, abandoning their belongings and seeking safety in nearby areas. Homes and properties were left deserted as panic gripped the community.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the attack. However, local vigilante groups and security forces have reportedly begun search and rescue operations in the area, combing nearby forests and settlements for clues.
The exact number of abducted and injured victims remains uncertain, heightening anxiety and grief in the already traumatized region.
