2 NNPP lawmakers defect to APC amid party crisis

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has lost two of its members in the House of Representatives to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), following a formal announcement on the floor of the House on Thursday.
The defectors, Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, represent Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya and Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituencies in Kano State, respectively. Their defection was made official as Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read their letters of defection during plenary.
According to the lawmakers, their decision to leave the NNPP was driven by unresolved internal conflicts within the party. They cited a deepening crisis that has affected party unity and direction as their primary reason for switching allegiance.

Also announcing his departure from his former party was Oluwole Oke, who represents Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State. He too has now joined the APC.
Present at the session to welcome the new entrants was APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who showed support for the defecting lawmakers.
