Tinubu meets US Senior Advisor in France to discuss peace in Africa, economic cooperation

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa at the U.S. Department of State, during his visit to France.
The high-level meeting, which took place in Paris, focused on strengthening U.S.-Africa relations with a spotlight on peace and development.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, confirmed the meeting in a statement, while the U.S. Mission in Nigeria also shared updates on the discussion via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
At the center of the dialogue was the search for lasting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a nation grappling with years of conflict and instability.
“State department senior advisor for Africa Massad Boulos met with President Tinubu on Thursday to discuss regional security including working together with partners to build a durable peace in eastern DRC,” the post reads.

“They also discussed expanding opportunities for economic cooperation throughout Africa.”
On April 2, President Tinubu departed for France on a two-week working visit.
During the trip, he is expected to assess the progress of his administration’s ongoing reforms and lead strategic discussions ahead of the second anniversary of his tenure.
