Super Eagles climb FIFA rankings but drop out of Africa’s top 5

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA rankings, rising from 44th to 43rd, despite a mixed performance in their recent World Cup qualifiers.

The three-time African champions secured a 2-0 victory over Rwanda’s Amavubi but were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe’s Warriors. While this marginal rise in the global rankings is a positive sign, Nigeria has slipped out of Africa’s top five teams.

The current top five ranked teams in Africa are Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Ivory Coast. Meanwhile, the global rankings remain unchanged, with Argentina, Spain, France, England, and Brazil holding onto their top five spots.
