Premier League introduces 2 transfer windows ahead of expanded Club World Cup

The Premier League has announced a unique adjustment to its summer transfer window, splitting it into two separate periods to accommodate clubs participating in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
The first window will run from Sunday, June 1, to Tuesday, June 10, before temporarily closing for five days. It will then reopen on Monday, June 16, and remain open until Monday, September 1.
This move is designed to allow teams like Manchester City and Chelsea, who have qualified for the Club World Cup, to strengthen their squads before the tournament kicks off.
The first-ever expanded Club World Cup, set to feature 32 teams, mirrors the traditional FIFA World Cup format and is expected to be a landmark event in global club football.
By allowing early signings, the Premier League aims to give its teams a competitive edge before they head into the global competition, ensuring they can strengthen their squads ahead of a demanding schedule.

The tournament will take place in the United States, with Chelsea and Manchester City representing the Premier League when it kicks off on Sunday, June 15.
Due to FIFA regulations limiting summer transfer windows to 12 weeks, the Premier League has structured a brief pause to ensure the window remains open until September 1.
FIFA has also designated two official registration periods for new players in the Club World Cup: from June 1-10 and again from June 27-July 3 for teams advancing to the knockout stage.
