President Tinubu appoints new members to NCDMB governing council

In a move to boost local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, President Bola Tinubu has appointed new members to the governing council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
The announcement was made on Thursday, March 27, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
He stated that Tinubu approved the appointment of four new board members to strengthen the board’s capacity in promoting indigenous participation in the industry.
The NCDMB plays a crucial role in ensuring Nigerian businesses and professionals benefit from the country’s oil and gas resources.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Onanuga said the new board members were appointed after the exit of the previous representatives from various organisations.
He noted that the NCDMB is committed to exploring ways to improve on its responsibilities of overseeing and promoting Nigerian participation in the oil and gas sector among others.

Onanuga also said the new appointees are expected to use their expertise to drive local content growth in the sector.
The newly appointed members of the NCDMB board are:
1. Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM)
2. Wole Ogunsanya of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN)
3. Sam Azoka Onyechi, representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF)
4. Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
